Garin + Misha Engagement

Living on Maui and capturing its beauty never gets old. But when I got a chance to film Garin + Misha's love for each other on the rugged Oregon coast, I jumped at the opportunity!

I met Garin + Misha in Maui earlier this year where they were scouting for the perfect venue. We quickly hit it off and when they found out I was headed to Oregon to visit family over the summer we decided to meet up.

Oregon is my home state and growing up I used to travel to the coast all the time. When I was 19 I moved to Maui and thats where my passion for videography started. So going back to a place I used to frequent as a kid and being able to capture its beauty as an adult was really cool. My highlight of the shoot was capturing a migrating grey whale coming up for a breath of air!

Congratulations Garin + Misha and I can't wait to film your wedding next year on Maui!

Andrew + Kara

Energetic, fun-loving, and family orientated. These are all words that describe Andrew and Kara to a "T". Their wedding weekend was definitely one to remember! Boat trip with Pacific Whale Foundation on Saturday, Luau at the Sheraton Black Rock on Sunday, and finally the big day at the Olowalu Plantation House. It was a blast being able to capture all three days of fun.

It was interesting to hear about Andrew's past and how him and Kara finally met. Andrew was a pro snowboarder before he went to school to become an engineer and then finally landing a job at Google designing self-driving cars. Andrew has also spoken at TEDx about reaching your escape velocity and what it takes to make changes in your life. Andrew met Kara in San Francisco and both being super driven, passionate people, they hit it off right away and started adventuring through life together.

Opihi Love coordinated Andrew and Kara's wedding day and it was amazing! Watching their wedding film you can see the amount of detail that goes into place settings and outdoor activities. To top it all off, Maui Roadsters brought one of their classic Porsches for Andrew and Kara's ceremony exit. The evening ended with many toast from friends and family, along with everyone writing down well wishes on biodegradable miniature boats that were set out to sea.

Ben + Nina

Wow, I've never seen two people more in love! Not only for each other but for their loved ones as well!

Ben and Nina are from Australia and always wanted to travel to Hawaii. They strategically planned to get married on Maui so they could visit this tropical paradise and bring their loved ones with them. One of the most touching moments of the night was when Ben got up and said a few words to everyone around the table. He brought up how important it is to raise your kids right and thanked his parents and Nina's for a job well done. Even though Nina's father had passed away before their special day you could tell his presence was there in spirit.

The Olowalu Plantation house was the perfect backdrop for such a beautiful night under the stars. Thank you so much Ben and Nina for inspiring all of us to love whole heartedly!

Jon + Sara

No Ka Oi Media is based on Maui, but that doesn’t stop us from jumping on a quick inner island flight to film for the day. We had the pleasure of working with Jon and Sara on Oahu at the stunning ocean front venue of Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute on their wedding day. They chose the island of Oahu because Jon is originally from Australia and Sara is from the mainland. Hawaii is the perfect halfway point so that both sides of their families could attend their special day. Jon and Sara are a fun and loving couple with a hilarious sense of humor. They even started spontaneously dancing on the beach during the sunset. Cheers to many happy years together Jon and Sara!
