Tanner + Hayley | Castaways Wedding in Portland, Oregon

I just had the most amazing weekend traveling to my home state of Oregon. I’ve lived in Hawaii for the last 11 years, but grew up in a small town close to Oregon’s capitol. Sometimes you don’t appreciate where you grew up until you move away. Whenever I travel back now, I find myself amazed at how beautiful Oregon is. The coast is foggy and inspiring, the cities are unique and full of good food, and the country side is full of pine trees and squirrels.

The weather was perfect for Tanner + Hayley’s wedding day. No clouds in sight, and the first signs of spring showing in the cherry blossoms. The ceremony was at Holy Trinity Church and the reception was in the industrial part of Portland near the river. Enjoy this short teaser from Tanner + Hayley’s spring wedding at Castaway in Portland!

New Zealand Travel Film

Back in June, my wife Christine and I flew a couple thousand miles to the land of snowcapped mountains, endless beaches, and magnificent waterfalls. We flew a total of 13,040 miles and drove 2,450 miles during our trip. Some would say that isn't a vacation. A vacation should be relaxing by the pool and drinking a cocktail, Christine and I don't take normal vacations.

In order to see New Zealand properly, you have to take a road trip. The endless miles seem to disappear when the landscape changes dramatically every 5 minutes. The North and South islands are both unique and offer different experiences for different people. Taking a tour of Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown, watching seals play on the beach, and hiking 12km in the Abel Tasman National Park, where some of the highlights from the south island. Highlights from the north island included, exploring the thermal valley in Wairakei, wine tasting on Waiheke island, and eating the best fish n chips in the world in Mangonui.

My love for creating films doesn't stop when I go on vacation. Years ago I actually found my love for filmmaking on a road trip through America's southwest. To me, stopping and taking the time to create something I'll remember forever doesn't take away from the journey. I love looking back on all the adventures I've had and the people I've shared them with.

Please enjoy this short cinematic highlight film of our 3 week road trip through New Zealand! I hope it inspires you to travel and see new places!
